Hi EveryOne..
This post is basically, a collection of pages, from the book, which was compiled under the patronage of the British Government. The compilation of the records started in 1800's and finally the book was published in early 20th century.
The reason for publishing this account was to know about the Indian History, so that Indians could be governed in a better manner.
Though, this book, is like a normal history account. But in this account, we get one striking point. The author makes a comment about a Rajput Princess, who was the favorite wife of Akbar.
Hence, i found it worth reading and got the entire account of Akbar scanned from the book. At some places, the book was tattered beyond scanning ability. But, i have tried to scan every possible corner.
Enjoy the account of Akbar. And, also a BRIEF mention of a favorite Rajput wife. This account in more than 100 Years Old Well-Researched Document under the patronage of the British-Indian Government.

^^^^^Also see the annual revenue estimates of Akbar's period.

The story of Jodha Akbar is NEITHER creation of Ashutosh Govariker's movie - Jodhaa Akbar, NOR a creation of Ekta Kapoor's Serial.
Their Story has been there. It was there since the LAST 450 YEARS.
JUST needs to be explored from a DIFFERENT perspective.

Why doesn't she use the material her team collected in 2 years in the serial then? Stupid.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Abhay for getting these pages scanned :-D
Hope she improves the execution in her show, and gives Royal treatment to the leads. You're Welcome.
DeleteAbhay this is just too good Akbar is just great his mansabs are equivalent to the modern districts and his revenue system and the way he ruled is just superb to know that so many of his way of governance are being followed even now with slight modification just takes the cake no wonder even after so many years he is great a secular person with no doubt so many hunars in him
ReplyDeleteHi Sunram,
DeleteAlong with Akbar i also feel , he was blessed to have talented people with him, who influenced him in many ways. The revenue system devised by TodarMal is used even today in modified form.
Abhay, in what ways was the revenue model similar to and different from Sher Shah's? I heard he too had brought in a great many administrative reforms during his short tenure.
DeleteRadhika,
DeleteA lot of reforms of TodarMal had their roots in the Sher Shah Suri's reforms..Akbar himself based his administration on Suri's reforms..
You know about the "Patwari" system .?. That is something similar and on lines of TodarMal's administration..
But very few people today credit Sher Shah with anything. He even built major arterial roads that are still used today but he himself has been forgotten.
DeleteYou are right. He built many roads. Also he connected the sea ports of Gujarat with roads. He built sarais/rest houses for travelers. He had many reforms to his credit in field of trade and commerce also. Many of these were implemented as it is by Akbar which laid the foundation of his Empire.
DeleteSimply awesome findings Abhay.
ReplyDeleteAkbar was truly GREAT.
And look what Ekta has reduced him and Jodha to ........... .
Thank you so much for presenting the 'scanned' pages.Your love for history is clearly visible from all the hard work that you put in to gather all this information.
Charu.
Welcome Charu. : )
DeleteI wish Ekta had followed at least the basic protocols of the Royals while dramatizing the storyline.
abhay kindly post sm stuff about rltnshp between salim and akbar !
ReplyDeleteSure.
ReplyDeleteWill post about it soon , Vanshika. The post was under preparation. :)
